It’s well past time to talk about why “work” should a benefit of military service.
For too long, we talked about “be all you can be in the military” and not enough about what happens after military service is completed.
To be clear, we are not talking a guarantee of a job. We are not talking about some empty promise of life-long employment. We are talking about “work” as a way of reconnecting veterans and their families with society at large.
For disabled veterans, makerspace development can provide a lifeline that they can use to climb out the hole that swallows up many with disabilities. All these heroes need is access to the proper support system that makerspaces can provide to realize their dreams of self-sufficiency.
